Conjunctivitis. Dry keratoconjunctivitis occurs with 25% of the HIV infected people. The diseased suffer from xerophthalmia and "sandpaper" in the eyes, their eyesight becomes vague and indistinct. The epiphenomenons often include conjunctivitis, keratitis and helcomas. In case of Kaposi sarcoma, there are red violet lumps on the conjunctivitis that are sometimes taken for subconjunctival hemorrhage.
